First, Garden news time!
Hey, everyone!
In my April newsletter I showed y’all where our garden was going to be this year. I told you I would update. Well, we had it ready. We had so many plans and seeds ready to plop down in that fertile soil and help them germinate and grow into wonderful veggies.
And then…I got sick, with flu-like symptoms. In the bed! When I was on the mend, my husband got sick with upper respiratory stuff.

This is where we were going to plant our garden. It later became dust in the wind!
Like Morton Salt, when it rains it pours. It took us the whole month of April almost to weather this stuff.
Then we were ready to plant! Yay! Double yay!! No! Triple no!!! No rain. None. Nada. Garden was so dry it was like puffy powder. By the time it did rain, it was too late.
How many of you guys, besides us here in South Carolina, had a drought at planting time? Or was sick?
We had planted potatoes and onions in March. We did plant cucumbers, watermelon and cantaloup in the powder and carried water to keep them watered. But most of them withered away in spite of all our efforts.
Aaaannnd! I did can strawberry Jalapeño jam! With waterlogged berries! It was an adventure. If you haven’t already, check that newsletter out where I was flying by the seat of my pants! Click here https://dellastrickland.org/2025/06/07/dellas-newsletter-2/
It seems, you can’t fight mother nature!!!
Yes, I think we can! By this time next year, we will have some water out there to irrigate. Water lines are already getting buried. Maybe we’ll have it ready for a fall garden, who knows? I know this, you can’t grow anything without water.
Now, time for Romance!
The good news is…
Instead of doing all that gardening work, harvesting and canning, I’ll have more time to write! Helllooo over here! Turning lemons into lemonade. I have a new series I’m developing, anyways. More about that on down the road. Today…in this newsletter…I want to showcase the very first novel in my Snowflakes series.
In The Love of the Caretaker , is set in Nevada on the Jake & Jewel Ranch. Molly Terrance broke up with the love of her life, Rodeo champion bull rider, Elder Dane “Dance” Mullins, and broke both their hearts. She didn’t set out to be an icon of faith to her friends and family, but the road she felt called to walk demanded she walk alone for awhile.
Seven years later, and one ranch, she and Dance were unknowingly thrown together. But Dance wanted nothing to do with her. And she could not blame him. But she felt compelled by the same kind of faith to help him get to the bottom of why he was so sad.
It didn’t help that the same beautiful cowgirl, Cindy Miles, who wanted Dance for herself, was still around. Cindy still hated Molly and wanted Dance.
But once she and Dance met again, Molly’s heart danced in her chest because she felt that same connection that brought them together seven years ago. But did Dance? Was this their second chance at love? Could she help Dance overcome his heartbreak from seven years ago?
All Dance wanted was to do his work at Molly’s Jake & Jewel Ranch, and then leave. He didn’t want to go down memory lane. What was the use? He knows Molly is flaky and doesn’t have the staying power, so he’s trying to stay professional. But Molly seemed bound and determined to wreak havoc on his heart he thought he had closed off to love for good.
Can the fires of their sweet love for each other be fanned back into a burning flame again?
This is a sweet romance, a cowboy romance and a wholesome love story that will warm your heart with its happy ending.
This is the Snowflakes in Nevada Trilogy.
