Okay, right off the bat, this is the first of my new newsletters I’ve named OUT OF THE WILD BLUE YONDER. It’s kinda like a sub stack within my web page. (I don’t have time to keep up with lots of platforms, like a real sub stack page like others have. I’m too busy writing and working on the farmstead.)
But y’all, I had to share this!! This message excited me so much. I hope it excites you too!
JUST A WARNING THOUGH: If you’re not into my Christian themed opt-in newsletters, you might want to opt-out. But this one is Biblical! But seriously, this was an eye opener for me this morning.
As you may have already guessed, this is not about the farmstead, or my romance novels, but rather, a post about a revelation I had this morning between 3:30 am and 5:30 am.
I usually pray if I wake up this early. As I was praying and meditating, I got a revelation that gave me a bit of elevation. Y’all, this short story here on The Jake & Jewel Homestead–the place I fondly call on my webpage, Romance & the Homestead–where I love to write and publish my romance novels–we struggle like any other family. I’m not gonna lie about that.
But this morning, I was praying and meditating on forgiveness. My family, as I’m sure y’all’s might too, has problems trying to survive in this world. I won’t get long winded about our struggles, because this sub stack letter is about forgiveness. As I was meditating, like I said, I felt the Lord showing me how truly powerful the blood of Christ Jesus is towards forgiveness. I don’t think I ever understood it this way before. It is so powerful that when we, from the heart, truly ask for his forgiveness, he forgives us completely.
Listen to this kind of complete forgiveness: Not only does his blood wash away our sin, JESUS GRANTS US PERMISSION TO FORGIVE OURSELVES OF THE SAME SAID SIN. But not permission to go out and do that same sin again.
As Christians, or not a Christian, do you have trouble dealing with guilt and shame, and other emotions, from doing the things we know is wrong? Saying and doing the wrong things towards people? Like I do? Then feel bad, like I do? Then, the rest of this story is for you!
Okay, you need Biblical proof. So did I. So here it goes.
The Scribes and the Pharisees, wanting to score points with the crowd, thought they had a great “gotcha” question for Jesus. They cast down, in front of him, a woman caught in adultery. Just her though. Not the man she was with.
“This woman was found in the very act of adultery. The law of Moses says we should stone her! What say ye, Teacher?” They smirked inside thinking they had him. (I’m paraphrasing a lot here, so bear with me.)
Jesus started doodling on the ground. (I don’t think he actually wrote anything. He was just getting everyone’s rapt attention, lining up their hearts and minds to be completely focused on his words.) Because Jesus’s next words were going to be very powerful and transformative!
“Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” Simple words, but oh! so powerful!
Those few, breathed words of God’s son went into every heart and mind there, including the Scribes, Pharisees, the woman and his disciples. You talk about power in the WORD! His words, I believe, brought up each person’s individual sins and played them in their minds like a live video.
Y’all ever had that happen to you? I have. It will make you feel guilty and ashamed. And well it should have made me feel in like manner. So, I’m pretty sure they felt some of the same.
That crowd dropped those stones clutched tightly in their hands like a hot potato. They had to know JESUS SAW AND KNEW THEIR SINS TOO! They turned and high tailed it out of there one by one!
Jesus asked her, “Where are your accusers? Did not one stay to condemn you?”
She shook her head, “No, Lord.”
(Jesus knew they were just meanly using her, poor soul.) “Neither do I condemn you,” he said. “Go and sin no more.”
Her forgave her sins, and he gave her permission to forgive herself. But he did not give her permission to go out and repeat the same sin.
The blood of Jesus is forgiveness so powerful it not only washes away our sins, but it also gives us permission to use the same powerful blood washed forgiveness to forgive ourselves. But not to sin again. It also gives us permission to share this same power, the gospel of love and forgiveness with others so they can obtain the same levels of forgiveness.
The way grace is preached today, that allows people, people who claim to be Christians, to go on sinning, and living in perpetual sin, believing they are covered by the grace of God… Mmm… I think people are playing a dangerous game with their eternal lives. I don’t condemn them. Because I love them I just fear for their eternal lives. I want everyone to be saved and spend eternity with God.
We should not abuse the privilege of God’s forgiveness or His permission for us to use it. Sometimes I think we take too much for granted. We should honor, cherish and be reverently grateful for God’s love through Jesus and what he bought on that old rugged cross, the one he hung and died on for us to have God’s forgiveness and eternal life.
God’s forgiveness gives us PERMISSION to forgive ourselves, but NOT PERMISSION to go on living in perpetual sin…KNOWINGLY.
I leave you with the words of Jesus: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,…
I hope you enjoyed my first OUT OF THE WILD BLUE YONDER newsletter, sub stack. I hope it helped you as much as it helped me understand better God’s awesome son Jesus and his blood bought forgiveness for us.
REMEMBER, HE GIVES US PERMISSION THOUGH HIS FORGIVENESS TO FORGIVE OURSELVES!
I’m not perfect, but I’m always willing to learn more about God’s love and God’s truth.

Can an old thing become new again?
Is God calling you back to your first love and purpose as a Christian husband, wife, mother, father, son or daughter?
No one thing has the enemy attacked more in our lifetime than the “nuclear family,” God’s heart and creation for mankind. The family, the hope and nucleus of the world. He, the enemy, has taken fathers and mothers out of homes, oppressed marriage, torn relationships in the home apart and scattered them, and in the home turned God’s authority and blessings into materialism and disorder.
These are strong words for today’s fragile culture, but much needed to pull deception’s fog from our eyes. In, Inside Sarah’s Tent, Birthing Gods Blessings Inside Your Home, I share how I took God’s word and brought it inside my home to claim the peace and promises of God for my family, to rebuild the spiritual nucleus of my home.
There is a lot of me in this book. Lessons I’v learned through many struggles. Since I published this book, I’ve learned a lot more. And I’m still learning. Thank God.
